"What/Why/When to Use Technology with Learning?"

Are you unsure how to best integrate technology into learning?  Let’s meet and discuss the use of technology in the classroom.  Instructors have various technology tools to assist them with teaching.  These technology tools vary from vodcasting to the use of email to distribute information to participants in a class.  I will present research to assist with the selection of technology and briefly explain what, why, and when to use technology with learning.   

Ms. LaTonya S. Motley is the Instructional Media Coordinator for Distance Education at El Camino College in Torrance, California.  She served as the President of MSIDTAA from 2006-2007.  She graduated from California State University Fullerton in 2006 with a Master’s of Science in Instructional Design and Technology.  LaTonya has presented at several educational conferences such as the Online Teaching conference and the Technology in Education (TECHED) conference.  When not teaching with technology, LaTonya likes to spend quality time with her son, travel, and volunteer as a technical trainer in the community. 

The MSIDT Alumni Association Social was held on May 21, 2010 at Golleher House.  We joined together to celebrate the graduation of Cohort 7 and to welcome Cohort 8.  The social allowed us to catch up and talk about the alumni association has been working to be more successful.  We also shared the results of the survey we held earlier this month.  Nearly all of the cohorts were present for the meeting!  Attendees included alummni from Cohort 1, 3, 4, 5/6, 7 and 8!
